Job Title: Senior UI Designer
Reports To: VP, Consulting Services
FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary
Designs user interface for interactive media, such as computer-based training, video games, CD-ROMs, Web sites and other online systems, software, interactive TV, and other platforms, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Analyzes and synthesizes concepts into a relational hierarchy consisting of various types and formats of information, reference databases, and associated interface design access points.

Determines cognitive model, metaphors, guides, and other information structures underlying particular user interface systems.

Creates and designs artistic themes for interface, such as icons, guides, and toolbars.

Designs the specific manipulations required of users in order to navigate through a particular product.

Helps to develop and test one or more product prototypes to evaluate navigational structure, appearance of screens, and effectiveness of tools.

Utilizes feedback from marketing focus groups to determine optimal interactivity and navigational structure.

Creates low, medium, and high fidelity UIs.

Education and/or Experience
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Flash, HTML, XML, XSLT Development software.
